Prime Minister Zoran Zaev told a news conference today that he was optimistic about the dispute with Bulgaria because, as he said, he was doing his best to reach a solution, but also said that there were issues that were not negotiated anywhere in the world. , and that will not be negotiated in our case either.
“Through optimism we are sending a message that we are doing everything to reach a solution, I am the same one who a month ago, on the holiday of October 11, informed the people that there is a possibility that we do not have a solution, respectively that the Conference may not be held first intergovernmental agreement between Northern Macedonia and the EU. We are trying until the last moment, we will give everything on our part, like energy, wisdom, but know that there are issues that are not negotiated anywhere in the world. The Bulgarian side also understands this, it understands that our identity and language are feelings and rights that belong to us, states do not negotiate for this work. “We are trying to find a solution that is acceptable to both parties, but I definitely stand behind what is possible if we do not hold the first intergovernmental conference with the EU,” said Zaev.
