The Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi today met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Emilio Lorenzo Serra and the Advisor for Economic Cooperation Roberto Ruiz Antolin.
The topic of the meeting was the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as the opportunities and potentials for deepening economic cooperation.
Ambassador Lorenzo Serra congratulated the election of the new Government, and congratulated Minister Bekteshi on his re-election as Minister of Economy.
Minister Bekteshi informed Ambassador Serra about the policies and measures implemented by the Government regarding the treatment of the consequences caused by the pandemic, mainly in terms of supporting the economy.
Minister Bekteshi expressed his gratitude for the friendly support of the Kingdom of Spain in the democratic and Euro-Atlantic processes of the country, and noted that there is still enough room for increased economic cooperation, mainly due to the fact that the Kingdom Spain is one of the few countries with which Northern Macedonia has a surplus of economic cooperation.
These data, as the Minister pointed out, are an incentive for both countries to work harder towards increasing trade in the coming period, but also to support companies to expand their business activities in both countries.
The Minister and the Ambassador agreed that there is much room for cooperation, especially in the field of energy investments, especially in renewable energy sources, for which Spain has extensive experience.
The Ministry of Economy will remain open in the future for any kind of cooperation with the Kingdom of Spain, underlined Minister Bekteshi and agreed with Ambassador Serra that they will work to further expand economic relations between the two countries.
