€470 million will be distributed to citizens and enterprises through the fourth economic recovery package.
The government of North Macedonia announced that this will also include subsidies for minimum wage workers in the private sector.
“The fourth package is a direct assistance to boost consumer spending which is an incentive for economic growth”, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
The government has also planned to share bonuses for those that were worst hit by the pandemic.
“Payment cards will be 6,000 Dinars this time, and will be accorded to 5,000 parents, 182,000 retirees, passive employees, independent artists, and employees in entertainment, as well as 540 students will receive payment cards for the purchase of local products”, he stressed.”
To boost the tourism industry, the government will pay 150 guides until the end of the year as well as give financial assistance to some 500 tourism agencies.
The opposition criticized the economic package and said that the government is trying to shift away the attention from the substantial problems threatening the country.
