Maricic: The law on registration will not be returned to the Government, the changes will be made in the Assembly

The Minister of Justice in Northern Macedonia, Bojan Maricic, today spoke about the census, which is expected to take place next year, writes Dailynews

He said that the text of the draft law will not be returned to the government procedure, because as he said, they estimate that the minimal changes can be realized through interventions with amendments in the Assembly.

“The reopening of the text of the Law can only lead to the postponement of the registration again, while the opposition itself demanded that the registration be completed in 2021. The best chance for the registration to be completed in 2021 is for this to happen in the spring. respectively in April, because we already know that in October we will have regular local elections, it is impossible for the registration to take place in the fall “, said Minister Maricic, among other things.

Otherwise, the census was originally scheduled to take place in April this year, but due to the situation with the pandemic was canceled.
