Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham called up to England squad for first time

Jude Bellingham has been added to the England squad after James Ward-Prowse and Trent Alexander-Arnold withdrew through injury.

The 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder was originally included in the Under-21 squad but he will now join up with Gareth Southgate’s senior squad for the first time.  

Bellingham has impressed in the Bundesliga since joining Dortmund from Birmingham for £30million over the summer and he will link up with the England squad for the triple-header against Ireland, Belgium and Iceland

Marcus Rashford is due to report for duty on Thursday to have his shoulder injury further assessed.  

Rashford was hurt in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday but will travel to St. George’s Park to be checked by England medical staff.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from the squad after suffering a calf injury against Manchester City, and Southgate has decided not call-up a replacement.

The majority of the squad arrived at St. George’s Park yesterday, with Ben Chilwell, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling due to report today.

England face Ireland at Wembley on Thursday before travelling to Belgium on Sunday and then playing Iceland next Wednesday.
